Patricia "Pat" Sanders, age 97, of Westlake, Louisiana, passed away peacefully, just 10 days shy of her 98th birthday. Patricia was born in Fort Worth, Texas, and graduated from Beaumont High School in 1945.
On December 13, 1944, she married the love of her life, and together they shared nearly 60 wonderful years of marriage until his passing in 2004. In 1959, they made Westlake, Louisiana, their home, where they raised their family. Patricia was a longtime member of Westlake United Methodist Church, and her faith remained an important part of her life throughout the years. She was known for her kind heart and unwavering love for her family.
She found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved spending time at the beach, working word search puzzles, and was a fierce competitor at the domino table. Above all, Patricia treasured her family. Her greatest happiness came from loving and caring for "all of her babies”.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Connie LeBlanc and Karen Gillman; daughter-in-law, Diana Sanders; nine grandchildren, Tricia Estes (Michael), Kathie Istre (Tommy), Paige Ball, Gary LeBlanc (Kim), Michelle Baker (Mike), Aaron Sanders (Kareline), Jason Sanders, Lucas Sanders, and Angie Sanders; 26 great grandchildren; and 35 great great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Hugh C. Sanders, Sr.; parents; son, Hugh C. Sanders, Jr.; great grandson, Collin Sanders; siblings, Durwood Steele, Jack Steele, Sr., and Betty Beadle.
The family will welcome relatives and friends at Hixson Funeral Home of Westlake on July 15, 2026 beginning at 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Visitation will resume on Thursday, July 16, 2026 beginning at 9:00 a.m. with a Funeral Service to begin at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Westlake Memorial Park. Rev. Lauren Broussard LeBoeuf with Westlake United Methodist Church.
