Richard Allen Hicks Sr.

Richard was a lifelong resident of Westlake and retired from Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 106. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and past Post Commander of American Legion Post 407. Richard was also a member of the Westlake Masonic Lodge, he enjoyed camping, fishing and football, especially LSU. He loved to play poker and breaking/training race horses.

Pops will be greatly missed by his wife, Sharon "Pat" Hicks; daughter, Paula Hicks Grice; grandchildren Rikki Fernandez, Krissie Hicks, and Bently Stewart; great-grandchildren, Landon Wise, Bethany Manuel, and Valerie Manuel; and one brother, Jack Hicks.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sandra Shreve Hicks; son, Richard Allen Hicks, Jr.; mother, Ina Hollander Hicks: father, Norman Hicks; and five brothers, Donald, Norman, Warren, Douglas and Jimmy Hicks; and sisters, Norma and Rebecca Hicks.

Honoring Pops' wishes, the family will host a Celebration Of Life Service at the American Legion in Sulphur on August 25, 2018 from 3-5pm. The family asks that food and fellowship be shared. Cremation has been entrusted to Hixson Funeral Home of Westlake. Words of comfort and memories may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com
