

Rick grew up in Bagdad, AZ. He joined the US Navy and served his country honorably. He was appointed to the Presidential Ceremonial Honor Guard serving Presidents; Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush.
Rick was a loving husband, father and friend. He loved being outdoors and hosted many BBQ’s and family gatherings, always giving ‘Snoopy Kisses’. He was an avid sports enthusiast with a special affinity for playing softball. He was strong in his love of God and his Christian faith. He worked as an electrician and was a member of IBEW Local 861. He will be remembered with love and kindness by everyone who was blessed enough to know him.
He was preceded in death by grandparents; Florence and Van Irvin, Lucille and Leonard Wiggins, mother in law; Nell Duhon, and nephews; Hesston Brock and Joshua Irvin.
Rick is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl Duhon Irvin; daughters, Kristi Thompson and her companion, Billy of Westlake, LA, Misti Thompson and wife LeAnn of Kinder, LA, Melissa Ward and husband, Charles of Westlake, LA; sons, Ricky Irvin and his companion, Dayvette of Sulphur, LA, Corey Allemand and his companion, Jackie of Westlake, LA; daughter, Taylor Irvin of the United Kingdom; grandchildren, Brayden, Saige, Zaylen, Samuel, Zamar and Alaya; parents, Larry and Jody Irvin of Elko, NV, sister, Kelly Lopez and husband, Raul of Elko, NV; brother, Michael Irvin and wife, Christy of Elko, NV; Father in law, Harlan Duhon of Westlake, LA, sister-in-law’s, Nicki Duhon of Westlake, LA, Wendee Duhon and wife, Victoria of Eastvale, CA; brother-in-law, Dewey Duhon and wife, Dianna of Lake Charles, LA; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at Hixson Funeral Home of Westlake from 5pm-8pm and will resume on Wednesday from 5pm-9pm and 8:30am-10am on Thursday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be at 10am on Thursday, November 10, 2016. Burial to follow at Butter Cemetery in Forest Hill, LA.
