A devout Catholic, Sherry was deeply involved in the Cursillo Movement, St. John Bosco Parish, and the Knights of Columbus.
He lived a full and joyful life. Sherry was an avid fisherman, gardener, and cook who loved sharing his famous gumbo. A lifelong boxing enthusiast and Golden Gloves boxer himself, he carried his love for the sport throughout his life. He was a natural storyteller, never met a stranger, and was known for his humor, his warmth, and his gift of giving everyone he met a nickname.
If you ever visited Sherry, you left with a story, a laugh, and likely a new nickname. His greatest joy was time spent with his grandchildren, family, and friends, all of whom he loved deeply. He leaves behind a legacy of faith, laughter, and love.
As Sherry often said: “Who wills it?”
