Sofia Broussard, 82, passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, August 1, 2018.

She has resided in Westlake for over 40 years. She was a homemaker who enjoyed taking care of family and adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Sofia loved crocheting, sewing and other crafts.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, JoAnne Mishler (Art) of Weatherford, Tx, Judy Broussard of Cecilia, LA, and Suzanne Broussard of Westlake, LA; grandchildren, Wes Broussard (Paula), Sarah Beth Johnson (Gabe), and Alex Broussard (Stephanie); great grandchildren, Ethan, Gabe and Kylie Broussard, Noah Murphy, Rayleigh Johnson, Amelia and Dante Broussard; sisters, Elma Marquez (Mingo), Corina Flores, Dalia Gonzalez, and Lily Adami (Joe); sisters-in-law, Linda (Amador) Gonzalez and Gloria (Neto) Gonzalez; brother-in-law, Bobby Broussard (Renee); and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 51years, Dudley J. "Buzz" Broussard, Sr.; son Dudley J. "Joe" Broussard, Jr.; and siblings, Fabianita Guajardo, Jose "Pepe" Gonzalez, Delia Cantu, Neo Gonzalez, Amador Gonzalez, Eloy Gonzalez, Elda Gonzalez, and Neto Gonzalez.

Funeral Services will be 10 am, Saturday, August 4th in Hixson Funeral Home of Westlake. Deacon Fred Reed will officiate. Burial will follow in Westlake Memorial Garden. Visitation will be held 4 - 9 pm Friday with a recitation of the Rosary at 6pm and resume 8am Saturday. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com.
