Stanley Bennett

June 25, 1960January 17, 2012

On June 25, 1960, Stanley Titus Bennett was born in Lafayette, La. to the late Samuel Louis Gilmore, Sr. and Eula Mae Bennett. He was baptized at Mt. Nebo C.M.E. Church in Westlake, Louisiana, where he later served as deacon. Stanley Bennett was joined in holy matrimony to Pamela Elaine Jones of Decatur, Georgia. To this union one son was born, Kristopher Paul Bennett and stepdaughter Kimyona Elaine Jones Dietter of Massachusetts. Stanley was survived by 4 sisters and 2 brothers: Vanessa Bennett, Mona Bennett, Yolanda Gilmore Bivins of Georgia, Shahara Gilmore Samuel of Texas, Ronald Bennett, Sr. of Louisiana and Samuel Louis Gilmore, Jr. of Texas. Stanley was survived by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great nephews and cousins. Stanley worked for DeKalb County Georgia Watershed Management since September, 2000. He was a longtime employee of Krause and Managan Louisiana. Stanley Bennett died on January 17, 2012. Final services will be: Visitation on Friday, January 27th from 5 p.m. - 9 p.m. and funeral service Saturday, January 28th at 10 a.m. both at Hixson Funeral Home of Westlake on Sampson Street and John Stine Rd. Interment will be at Perkins Cemetery in Westlake.

Stanley was a brother,a friend, a co-worker, a father, a husband, any many things to all of us and will be greatly missed by all of us. May God comfort the Bennett family in his sudden loss of a great man.Romans 15:4
