Women Veterans of Louisiana salute the service of Ms. Terry "Lorana" Dennis Barton in the U.S. Navy. We regret that we were not able to render the "Final Salute" from Women Veterans but here is a poem that is read at the funeral service:

She was a woman veteran
Whose service was true
She proudly served
The Red, White and Blue

She gave a part of her life
So others could be free
And without hesitation,
She joined unselfishly.

She did her job well
With Honor and Pride
And served her great country
With the men alongside

We're proud today to know
That although she is gone,
She goes onto glory
After a job "Well Done!"

And so, "Our Dear Sister"
We salute you today
A special sailor laid to rest
In this quiet, solemn way.

My husband and I wish so very badly we could be there today to celebrate Miss Terry's life. She was a special lady to my entire family. We are sending our love to Neal, Johanna and Mitze too. ??

We are thinking about all of you today knowing this is a hard time yet rejoicing with Terry that she is completely healed and whole and enjoying eternity with her Lord and Savior. I've had some time to think on memories we have shared with your mom, with you, Neal, and you, Mitzie. It is a blessing to have had y'all in our lives.
