Tracie Marie Richard, age 48, departed this world on December 27, 2023. Born on April 18, 1975, in Lafayette to her loving parents, Rita Richard and the late David Rideau, Tracie's life was a tapestry of love, laughter, and profound connections.
Growing up in Lafayette, Tracie cherished moments spent with her grandparents in Arnaudville before moving to Westlake as a young girl. As the eldest of four siblings, she embraced her role with love and care, forming deep bonds that endured throughout her life.
On April 24, 1995, Tracie welcomed her beautiful daughter, Jamie Marie Richard, who became the center of her world. A devoted mother, daughter, sister, and friend, Tracie's compassionate nature knew no bounds; she would generously give her all to anyone in need. Her infectious laughter and radiant smile could light up the darkest room, making her a beacon of joy for those fortunate enough to know her.
Tracie found immense joy in simple pleasures, such as shopping and spending time with her cherished family and friends. Her bright spirit and encouraging words uplifted those around her, and she faced life with unwavering courage, leaving fear far behind.
Tracie is survived by her loving mother, Rita Richard; her beloved daughter, Jamie Marie Richard; and her adored grandson, Johnathon Predium. She leaves behind her sister, April Pouchie, and husband Kendall Pouchie; her brothers, Brad Young, and Brient Richard.
Tracie is also remembered by her nieces, Briona Richard, Emry Richard, Emily Richard, Brittany Richard, Kennedi Broussard, and Kailyn Young, as well as her nephews, Bradley Young, Bryon Richard , Braylin Richard and Brient Richard.
Tragically predeceased by her father, David Rideau, and maternal grandparents, Mary Alice Lastrapes and Chester Richard, Tracie's absence leaves an indelible void in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Tracie Marie Richard will be truly missed and forever remembered for the love, laughter, and light she brought into the lives of everyone fortunate enough to have shared in her journey. May she rest in eternal peace.
The family will welcome relatives and friends at Hixson Funeral Home of Westlake on Saturday, January 6th, 2024 beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the procession leaves for the church at 12:45 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John Bosco Catholic Church at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Magnolia Cemetery.
