Andrew "Andy" Risner

ANDREW RISNER age 94, of Fairview Park, passed away peacefully December 27, 2013. A proud WWII Army Veteran, a faithful church Deacon, and Kirby Company retiree, Andrew was an avid bowler and crossword puzzle solver, and always a stoic courageous gentleman. Andrew was the beloved husband of the late Anne Gale (nee Placko) and loving father of Ruth Gale (David) Ninke of Rocky River, OH. A devoted grandfather of Sara (Chris) Burdette of Olmsted Twp., OH and David J. (Suzanne) Ninke of Golden, CO. and great-grandfather of Jacob and Connor Burdette and Elizabeth and Hannah Ninke. A dear brother and brother-in-law of Ann Olds and Charlotte Placko. Dearest uncle of David and Brian Risner, Diane Kekic, Cheryl Grassi, Janet Staley, Robert Olds, Joanne Janisko, Susie Winkler, Pat Wolford, Nancy Davis, Gerald, James, David, and Rebecca Placko, Janice Oleksiak, Brenda Detweiler, and the late Cynthia Schroeder. Andrew was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Susie (nee: Jancik) Risner, and his siblings; Margaret (Joseph) Bomba, Della (George) Gouch, Joseph (Mary), Steven (Marge) and Sophie Risner, Edward Olds, John (Genevieve) Placko, Stephen (Mary) Placko, Robert Placko and Mary (George) Olds. A celebration of Andrew Risner's life will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, January 4, 2014 at the CATAVOLOS-BERRY FUNERAL HOME, 23040 Center Ridge Rd. Westlake, OH 44145, where family will receive friends from 10 AM until time of services. Reverend Michael Wallace of Gethsemane Lutheran Church will be officiating.
