Baddour, Carrie Delle went home to the Lord on September 11, 2023. She was 98 years young. She was the loving wife of Maurice Baddour (deceased) for 64 plus years. Together they lovingly raised 10 children.
Carrie Delle was born and raised in North Carolina, where she remained until her marriage to Maurice. She is the daughter of the late John and Emily (Abde) McCall and was one of four children — John McCall, Jr. (deceased), LeRoy McCall (Roy), and Amiel (Joe) McCall (deceased) and the loving sister-in-law to Gerry, Sue, and Vonnie, who are all deceased. After graduating from Smithfield High School, she earned an Associate’s Degree in Accounting and worked for the North Carolina Department of Agriculture.
Her early years were marked by a love of music and dance, entering dance competitions with her brother John, and lending her beautiful singing voice to a local radio program.
Carrie Delle met Maurice while on an outing with a group of Lebanese friends. He said he was smitten right away and finally got his wish when she said yes to his proposal. After marriage, they were transferred to Washington, D.C. for Maurice’s service in research, where they lived until they moved to Cleveland, Ohio for his job opportunities at Designers for Industry and later at NASA.
Carrie Delle loved family and she spent many hours preparing meals and caring for her brothers, father, extensive family, and group of friends. Memorable were the feasts, picnics, and festivities she hosted, especially on Christmas Eve, with crowds often reaching 50 family members and friends celebrating great meals and good company. She was always present, alongside her husband, at key milestones in her children’s and grandchildren’s lives, with words of praise as to how talented and special they all were.
Carrie Delle was always ready to lend a helping hand with many community and church projects where she met and nurtured many deep friendships over the years.
Carrie Delle is survived by her children, Fred, Maureen Moses (Dr. Joe), Patrice Lorence (Joe), Mary, Joe (Robbyn), Bill (Kelly), Teresa Hooper (Doug), and Karen Ogrinc (Dr. Greg) and those children who have passed before her, John (deceased) (Sunny) and Robert (deceased). She is also survived by 23 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren and lovingly known to them as Sittie and Great Sittie.
