Edie moved to the United States in 1965, first to upstate New York and then to the Cleveland, OH area a few years later. In Cleveland, she met Francisco “Frank” Uytingco through mutual friends. They married in 1969, and together they made their home in North Ridgeville, Ohio, where they raised their daughter, Erica, and shared 34 years of marriage.
Edie enjoyed a fulfilling career as a medical technologist at Lakewood Hospital for 20 years. Beyond work, she dedicated time to volunteering at her daughter’s schools and served on the boards of a few women’s auxiliaries.
After her beloved husband passed away in 2004, Edie retired and moved to Henderson, NV, where she and Frank had planned to retire together. Edie loved living near Las Vegas and enjoyed going to shows, concerts, restaurants and exploring all that the area has to offer. In her 20 years in Henderson, she spent time with friends she met through her neighborhood community center and she was active in her local parish.
Edie will always be remembered for her endless energy, adventurous spirit, her devotion to her family and her love of ballroom dancing.
Edie is survived by her daughter, Erica Uytingco Meyers, her son-in-law Justin Meyers, and her three grandsons, Jackson, Noah and Connor Meyers.
A funeral mass will be held on Friday, August 29 at 10am at St. Peter Church in North Ridgeville, OH. Family and friends are invited to attend and celebrate Edie’s life. Entombment St. Joseph Cemetery Avon Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Fisher House Foundation or Disabled American Veterans in Edie’s memory.
Forever loved, forever remembered.
