Elisavet Tsolakis (nee Kranidiotis), a loving mother, wife, yiayia, great yiayia, aunt, sister and friend passed away peacefully on September 12, 2023 in Lewes, Delaware. Born September 15, 1938 in Mytilini, Greece, she led a life filled with love, compassion, and unwavering dedication to her family.
She was a devoted wife to the late Tzanos Tsolakis, and together, they shared 54 years of love and companionship.
She resided in Greece until 1976, when she moved to Cleveland, Ohio with her spouse and children, leaving behind the only life she knew, in order to allow her family more opportunity.
A homemaker her entire life, Elisavet poured her heart and soul into cooking and feeding those she loved, especially her family. She kept their stomachs full with her wonderful Greek cuisine. She kept busy tending to her flower garden, making sure her visiting birds were always fed, listening to Greek music of all varieties, and keeping up with the Greek entertainment world. She had a beautiful voice and a passion for singing.
Elisavet is survived by her four children: Pantelimon (Julie nee Florek), Evangelos, Chrisoula (Leonidas), and Emmanuel (Daneen nee Zakrin). She was extremely proud of her 6 grandchildren: Aikaterini (Ian), Elisavet (Joshua), Emmanouil (Gina), Yanni, and Elizabeth, and Savanna. She will always be in the fondest memory of her 7 great grandchildren Isla and Jack Houston, Yanni, Sophie and Theodoros Tsolakis, Giovanni Paragiou, and Cyrus Horne, all of whom brought immense joy to her life. Elisavet also leaves behind countless nieces and nephews.
Elisavet will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. A passionate story teller with an incredible memory and an infectious laugh. Nothing brought her more joy than being in the presence of her family and those she cared for. She was a devout Christian, always praying for others, and she loved singing the liturgical chants. She will be greatly missed by all that know her.
