Jim and I met at Western Reserve University in dental school. I broke both of my legs tobogganing in January of my third year in dental school. I had enough clinical units to be a 4th year student, however I couldn’t attend the dental school classes for about two or three months. Jim, always a good friend, took notes in carbon and my dad would pick them up weekly or Jim would mail them to me. I am eternally grateful to Jim for saving me from taking a fifth year of dental school.
Jim and I both became orthodontists. It was because of Jim going to orthodontic school that I too decided to specialize. Jim brought friendship, laughter, and guidance to my life and I will always be eternally grateful. Dr. Ken Stasun.

My entire family is so sorry to hear of Dr. Ballrick’s death. He did all 5 of my children’s braces and their teeth are as beautiful today as the day their braces were removed - which was many years ago.
He always made his patients feel comfortable as he was full of silly jokes. My grown children still remember some of his jokes and stories. When my husband died suddenly at the age of 49, he continued to treat my three younger children pro bono as I was struggling with insurmountable bills after his passing.
Dr. Ballrick, I have said this a million times to so many people and I will say it again for the last time - I think the world of you and am eternally grateful to you for your generosity on behalf of my family.

You were the very best husband a women could ever want. Thank you for being so loving, caring, and giving. You have taught me and the boys how to extend love and kindness to others and for that I am eternally grateful to you. We had a wonderful life. I am so thankful to God for the 41 years we had together. Love you forever. Alexis

I was shocked to learn of Dr Ballrick’s passing. He will be missed by many. He was not only a Summa Cum Laude graduate from Case Western School of Dental Medicine whom I had the privilege to work under but a brilliant orthodontist who was very compassionate and caring. I cannot begin to tell the world how much he did for his patients, especially those families in need. A true gentleman . A truly humble, giving man. He will be missed by all those whose lives he touched. Rest in peace Dr. Ballrick

Dr. Ballrick was a wonderful neighbor. He was always willing to help and there were many times when I needed his expertise. He and his wife, Alexis, made time to address my problems and solve them. And they always remembered me with fruit from Florida when they returned from their winter escape. I will sorely miss him as I am sure many of his other friends will feel his loss.
