
James V. Bucci 99 years of age, passed away January 20, 2017 at The Meadows of Osborn Park in Perkins Township, Ohio. He was born December 14, 1917 in Rossiter, Pennsylvania to Ross and Josephine Bucci (Bongivana). He lived in Detroit, Michigan for his first thirty years before moving to Sheffield Lake, Ohio and later Lorain, Ohio.
After retiring, he moved to Sandusky, Ohio with his wife Jennie. He enjoyed bowling and playing cards with many card games being held in the basement of his home with neighbors and friends. When he moved to Ohio he purchased his first car but did not have a driver’s license so the salesman had to teach him to drive it. He and his wife became avid walkers during his retirement and were known to travel to different parks to walk.
He was employed by The Fruehauf Trailer Company in Avon Lake, Ohio as a foreman from the mid-forties until the time of their closing. He then worked for a short time for the Lorain School System and then worked for Ford Motor Company retiring in 1983.
He was preceeded in death by his wife Jennie on December 16th, 2016. They were married 54 years. Surviving are his children: JoAnn Coppage (John) of Prescott, Arizona, James R. (Kathleen) of Avon Lake, Ohio, Janice (Robert) Coates of Lorain, Ohio, Jack E. (Karen) of Xenia, Ohio, and Ronald (Jan) Dandrea of Plymouth, Michigan. Also surviving is his sister Yolanda Bucci of Sarasota, Florida and sister-in-law Fran Bradley of Lorain, Ohio. Grandchildren include James, Anthony, Daniel, Robert, Jennifer, Tajia and Daina.
He had 12 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family of Jim and Jennie are thankful for the excellent care given to both of them by The Meadows of Osborn Park.
