Joseph Anthony Gizzi Jr.

Joseph was the beloved husband of Patricia Gizzi, loving father of Sue Skufca (Mike) and Peggy Merry (Tony), and proud grandfather of Kate Skufca Doster (Jesse) and Tony Antonopoulos (Lydia).

Joseph and Patricia's love story began during their service in the United States Navy. Together they built a life filled with love, family, service, and devotion to one another.

Joseph worked for a civil engineering firm, HNTB, as well as the City of Avon Lake. He was a lifelong learner with a curious and inventive mind. He loved computers and anything technology related, even teaching himself code. He enjoyed learning new things and was never afraid to take on a challenge.

His family was the greatest source of joy and pride in his life, and he cherished the time they spent together. He was happiest when he could help, support, or simply spend time with those he loved.

Joseph was a big proponent of physical fitness and believed strongly in staying active. He enjoyed tackling research projects, chopping down trees and sawing wood for neighbors, and helping his family and friends. His strong work ethic, determination and willingness to help others were qualities that remained with him throughout life.

Above all, Joseph will be remembered for the love he had for his family and his generous spirit. He leaves behind nearly 70 years of marriage, a loving family, and a lifetime of memories that will be treasured by all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by those who are fortunate enough to share in his life.
