November 18, 1949 - January 2, 2026
Kenneth A. Wheeler, age 76, of Strongsville, Ohio, passed away on January 2, 2026, at Southwest General Hospital in Middleburg Heights. Born on November 18, 1949, in Cleveland, he was the son of the late Kneeland B. Wheeler and Faye L. Wheeler. Ken was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Lucille Wheeler (née Wallace), a proud, loving father to Caitlin (Reuben) and Kevin (Sarah), and a cherished grandpa (“Pa”) to Cecilia, Quinn and Sofia, along with many extended family members and friends who will miss him.
He was preceded in death by his parents and older brother, Thomas K. Wheeler.
Ken honorably served his country as a Vietnam veteran with the 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions. He carried that sense of service throughout his life and remained connected to fellow veterans through the VFW in Strongsville, where he formed lasting friendships. Following his military service, Ken graduated from Cleveland State University.
A hard-working and dedicated professional, Ken spent many years with the Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company (now First Energy) and retired from the Veterans Administration, with a career in information technology and project management. Outside of work, he embraced life with enthusiasm. He enjoyed playing softball, bowling, and golf, and found peace in the outdoors through camping, hunting, and fishing. At home, he took pride in yard work and gardening, loved grilling for family and friends, and enjoyed brewing his own beer. Ken was known for his charismatic personality, quick wit, and love of laughter, always happiest when surrounded by those he cared about.
The family will receive friends and relatives from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at Corrigan Craciun Funeral Home, at 23040 Center Ridge Road in Westlake. A funeral service will take place on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home, followed by internment at Lakewood Park Cemetery.
We find comfort in knowing that Ken’s legacy lives on through the values he instilled, the love he shared so generously, and the countless memories that will be treasured forever.
