Lawrence “Larry” Francis Joseph Lewandowski (75) was born May, 6 1950 in Cleveland, OH, to Frank G. and Mary R. Lewandowski. Larry had two older brothers, Robert J. and Joseph C., and one younger sister, Rosemary. Larry was a highly respected IT Supervisor for the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS) who always strove to do what was right for his colleagues, those whom he led, and the military personnel his department served.
During his time at DFAS he met his soulmate Thanh-hang “Hang” Thi Nguyen. As a devoted husband to Hang, Larry made sure she always knew she was safe, secure, and deeply loved. Although shy and reserved by nature, Larry was always thinking of others and finding ways to care for those whom he loved. Without being asked he would fix things around his parents’ home, ensured they always had food, was honest, humble, and never asked for anything in return.
Larry enjoyed watching the Cleveland Browns and Buckeyes football games with his family, going to the zoo, Cedar Point, and gazing at his family Christmas tree. He also built a complete Lionel train set in his basement. Larry was musically talented and in his personal time could be found singing and playing the clarinet.
On September 30, 2025 God called Larry home. Larry is survived by his loving wife Hang, his siblings Robert and Rosemary, and two sisters-in-law Marilyn and Maryann. His legacy of compassion, generosity, and quiet strength will always be remembered.
