Michael was the beloved husband of the late Jeanette (Wojtaszek) Slominski, with whom he shared a lifetime of love. He was a devoted and loving father to Diane (David) Lang and Michelle (John) Froelich, and a proud grandfather to Brett Lamarche (Nina) and Kaitlin Frank (Michael). He deeply loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, taking special joy in being a great-grandfather to Liliana and Michael Pantina, who brought endless happiness to his life. He was the dear brother of Shirley Ruskowski and the late Edward (Theresa) Slominski, and a cherished brother-in-law, uncle, and friend whose kindness touched many lives.
For the last 10½ years, Michael was lovingly cared for by Diane and David, whose devotion, patience, and compassion allowed him to remain surrounded by family and love. Some of his happiest moments were spent at Diane’s side in the kitchen, quietly helping, sharing conversation, and simply being together—moments that will be forever treasured.
Michael proudly served his country as a United States Marine during the Korean Conflict and spent many years working as a welder at LTV Steel, faithfully providing for his family.
Michael found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved woodworking, playing chess, and filling the room with music on the piano—a gift he joyfully passed down to his great-granddaughter, Liliana. He enjoyed dancing the polka, savoring his favorite Polish foods, watching classic spaghetti westerns on his computer, and tinkering with cell phones alongside his grandson Brett. These shared moments reflected his gentle spirit, humor, and deep love for family.
Michael will be remembered for his quiet strength, generous heart, and unwavering love for his family—especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His legacy of love, tradition, and cherished memories will live on in all who were blessed to know him.
