

Nicholas J. Krehel Sr., a lifelong resident of Fairview Park, OH, passed away peacefully in his home on May 23,2026. Nick was known for his warmth, quick laugh and deep devotion to family and friends. He will be remembered by all who knew him for his steady presence and kind heart.
Nick was born in Cleveland, Ohio on December 16, 1970 to Linda Krehel(Miller) and the late Lewis Krehel(Poppy). As the youngest of three, he grew up alongside his sisters, Louise Bear (Mike) and Constance Krehel(Rob), who fondly recall a boyhood filled with neighborhood adventures and a love of community that stayed with him his whole life.
A graduate of Cleveland Central Catholic High School, class of 1989, Nick carried the lessons of teamwork and commitment from his school days into everything he did. He treasured lifelong friendships from those years and often spoke of the teachers and classmates who shaped his early years.
Nick made his career at the Regional Transit Authority (RTA), where he worked for 29 years and became a familiar, friendly face to colleagues and riders alike. His long tenure fostered countless memories and friendships; he took pride in his work and in serving his community. Nick was often known for bringing laughter while being a fond favorite of all those he came in contact with.
Nicholas Krehel Sr.(Papa) was survived by spouse Kenyetta Krehel (Peach).He was a devoted father to his sons, Nicholas J. Krehel Jr. (Rachel) and Justin Krehel (Shannon) whom he shared with Jessica Krehel. Loving Uncle to Cheyenne and Aaron. Family was the center of his life; he adored his grandchildren — Jameson, Paige, Wyatt, Madison and Owen — and cherished the time spent at family gatherings, holidays and simple Sunday afternoons. Nick treasured his time taking vacations and traveling especially to Disney World. Nick will be remembered for his generosity, his genuine interest in others, and the comfort of his presence with friends and family.

The family will receive friends on Friday, May 29, 2026 from 4PM-8PM at Corrigan Craciun Funeral Home, 23040 Center Ridge Road, Westlake, OH 44145 where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11AM.
