Otto Hunyadi, age 95. Devoted and beloved husband for over 69 years of Suzanna ( Zsuzsanna) Hunyadi (deceased). Loving and cherished father of Suzanna (Ernie Prem) Hunyadi, Sylvia (Irwin) Peters and Peter Hunyadi. Dearest grandfather of Christa Melody Hodges (deceased) and Jason Peters. Dear brother of Emma Csehak (deceased) and Inci Szecsi both of Hungary. Dearest uncle and cousin of many. Dad and Mom were forced to leave their beloved Hungary on their first wedding anniversary with Suzanna who was 3 months old. This was during the 1956 Hungarian Revolution. Otto a veteran was teaching his friends and neighbors how to fight for their freedom against the Communist Russian invasion. They fortunately escaped as the sympathetic Hungarian Soldiers at the border told them they would need to fire their weapons so soldiers on the side of freedom would know they were escaping from communism. They always believed they were blessed to be Americans. He was always bothered how after working 3 jobs to provide for his family and night school to learn English how people could talk against his America. Papa and Mama showed all of us how to live a good life, from our strong faith to working hard and keeping our families. They taught us that it is in giving that you received and they helped everyone. So Papa give Mama a big kiss for all of us. Both of you rest in peace you will always be in our hearts. Funeral Mass at their beloved St. Emeric Hungarian Catholic Church. 1860 West 22nd Street, Cleveland OH 44113, on October 9th, 2025 at 10:30 am followed by burial at Sunset Memorial.
