

Ray proudly served his country in the United States Navy for two years during WWII. He graduated from the University of Notre Dame and earned a law degree from Cleveland-Marshall Law School.
For many years, Ray lived in Erie, Pennsylvania, where he attended St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church and was a member of American Legion Post 0494 in Girard, PA. He served his community for seventeen years as President of the Green Gate Village Condominium Association in Millcreek.
Ray was an avid reader and boater. His greatest joy was boating and camping with his family. He also kept a winter home for many years in Lake Worth, Florida, where he enjoyed a large circle of friends.
Ray became involved in the snow ski industry and co-founded a ski sales and service chain with locations in Vermont, New York, and Pennsylvania, where the family business continues to operate today.
He was preceded in death by his high school sweetheart, Gloria Ann Heller Connor; his former wife, Caroline Connor; and his loving companion and wife of 44 years, Matilda Engle Connor of Albion, PA. Also preceding him in death are his sister Eileen, his sister Catherine Lavelle (James), and his brother John Connor.
Ray is survived by his sister-in-law, Rose Connor, and many cousins, nephews, and nieces.
Cherishing his memory are his children Raymond Connor (Lois Wood); John Connor (Judy); Ellen Slifcak (George); Thomas Connor (Sunae); and Craig Connor (JoAnn); his grandchildren Jennifer Abercrombie (Scott), Mary Anne Fritz (Keith), Raymond Connor (Megan), Gloria Scalise (Brian), Vanessa Hebert (Jason), Brandi States (Richie), Sean Connor (Emily), Maxwell Connor (Corina Rivera), and Jenna Rippert Davis (Joe); and 13 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Corrigan Craciun Funeral Home on October 3, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. A blessing will held at the Funeral Home at the conclusion of the visitation.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Hospice of the Western Reserve (via their website, hospicewr.org).
Burial will be private at a later date.
