

Sharon L. Chitty, born in Cleveland, Ohio on March 26, 1946, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2025. She was 79 years old.
Sharon is survived by her devoted husband of 56 years, William “Bill” Chitty, with whom she shared a lifetime of love, laughter, and adventure. Together, they traveled the world, embracing new cultures and experiences with joy and curiosity.
She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Leona Keck Bodnar, and father, Julius Bodnar. She was also lovingly raised in part by her maternal grandparents, Josephine and John Keck, whose home on Freeman Avenue and the surrounding neighborhood always held a special place in her heart.
She spent over 40 years in corporate governance with Sohio/BP, where she was respected for her dedication, professionalism, and integrity. Her career was marked by a commitment to excellence and a deep sense of responsibility.
Sharon was known for her generous spirit, her deep love for her friends and family, and the warmth she brought into every room. Her kindness, thoughtfulness, and unwavering support touched the lives of many.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sharon’s memory to St. Wendelin’s Church, Malachi House of Cleveland, or the Seidman Cancer Center at University Hospitals - organizations close to her heart.
May we all honor Sharon’s memory by living generously, loving deeply, and paying forward the kindness she so freely gave.
A gathering for Sharon will be held Friday, August 8, 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM, St Wendelin Church, 2281 Columbus Rd, Cleveland, OH 44113. Interment will be held at Brooklyn Heights Cemetery, 4700 Broadview Rd, Cleveland, OH 44109.
