

Ada Elizabeth Womack passed away on February 28, 2014 at her home after six months of battling myelodysplastic syndrome. Ada was born on May 20, 1928 in Danville, Illinois to Henry and Cleda Harms. She graduated from Danville High School and spent one year at Freed Hardeman College in Tennessee where she met her husband, Morris. Ada later completed her bachelor's degree at Pepperdine University in 1972 and then her teaching credential.
Ada was a homemaker and supported her husband's work as a minister for the Church of Christ for the first 25 years of their marriage. She then worked at Pepperdine University for 19 years, in the Registrar's Office, Development Records, and the Career Center.
Ada and Morris lived in Texas, Michigan, and Indiana before moving to California in 1967. They settled in Oak Park in 1968 and lived there the rest of their lives. They were actively involved in the Church of Christ in Camarillo, Conejo Valley, Valencia, and most recently in Simi Valley.
Ada was an avid football fan, and was especially passionate about following college football. She and Morris traveled extensively throughout the United States, Europe, and the Holy Land.
Ada is survived by her children and their spouses, Dick and Ella Womack, and Leanne and George Neilson; step-grandsons, Bernie Guiang and Scott Neilson; step-great-grandson, Luke Neilson; and sister, Verdell Baker. She was preceded in death by her son, Jim; husband, Morris; and brothers, Roy and Jim.
The memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 6, at the Simi Valley Church of Christ, 1554 Sinaloa Road. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to your favorite charity in Ada's name.
