Born in Tehran, Iran, on June 25, 1953, Afsaneh was an exceptional student and grew up alongside her brother, Afshin. Her sister-in-law, Guity, introduced her to Bahman, and they fell in love and married in 1974. That same year, Afsaneh joined him in Los Angeles. Bahman became a successful real estate developer, and together they built their business and raised their family. In 1988, they moved to Calabasas.
Afsaneh devoted her life to her children and family. Her home was a warm and welcoming gathering place, where her generous spirit and wonderful cooking brought loved ones and friends together. A devoted Bahá’í, she was a dedicated fundraiser and philanthropist who gave generously to her local Bahá’í community, where she became a cherished and respected presence.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bahman; her parents, Ali Doroudkar and Farahdokht Madjidi; her sister-in-law, Guity; and Iraj, Bahman’s brother.
She is lovingly remembered by her children, Samira, Babak, Shireen, and Artin; her daughter-in-law, Darby; and her grandchildren, Siena, Cyrene, Sicily, and Rome. After losing both of their parents, Leila and Kamyar came to regard Afsaneh as a mother, and she loved them as her own.
