Andrew Kendall Spence

Andy was born in Port Chester, New York to Stuart and Beverly Spence, currently of Simsbury, Connecticut. He went to Simsbury High School and graduated in 1982. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Connecticut in Storrs. He worked as a Senior Packaging Engineer at Hamilton Sundstrand for 10 years where he received several patents. The Spence family moved to New Hampshire to join Teradyne in Nashua, New Hampshire for 6 years, Amphenol and Amphenol Backplane Systems for another 8 years. The family moved again to Oak Park, California where Andy started work at Glenair in Glendale, California as a Senior Technical Staff member.

Andy enjoyed his family, camping, skiing and was an avid fisherman. He especially loved Lake Sunapee, New Hampshire and his family’s lakeside home. Andy will be buried nearby.

Andy is survived in spirit through by his wife, Susan Dupnik Spence and children, Stephen Joseph Spence, who is a junior at the University of California - Davis and Samara Stuart Spence who will be a freshman in the fall at the University of California – Berkeley. Andy is also survived by Susan’s large family that welcomed him as their own.

Andy is also survived by his sister, Shelley Spence Kiernan of Princeton Junction, New Jersey, her husband Russ and their children, Derek, Lauren, Liam and Kai. He is also survived by his brother, Christopher Spence of Glastonbury, Connecticut and wife Andrea and their children, Matt and Jay.
