To Anoosh's Family,

I am so, so, very sorry for the loss of Anoosh.  I am a California Lutheran professor who taught courses cross-listed in the School of Management.  I am a colleague of Gerhard.  While I never met your son and brother, the stories I have heard certainly make me wish I had known him for his entire life.

Anoosh was a beacon in an often confusing and sometimes threatening world but he clearly brought unapologetic love and generosity of spirit to all who were fortunate enough to know him.

I am glad I got to hear the incredibly beautiful stories of Anoosh's goodness and courage.  I hope your retelling them will keep Anoosh's purpose in the universe alive.

I remember Anoush as a little boy when he refused to let go of my beloved friend Azar, his mum. He sat on her lap while observing his older brothers, with his huge eyes the color of dark chocolate.  He was still shy and talked very little but he already had the loveliest twinkly sweet smile. I so wish there was something to say or do to ease your pain but words are too small and all I can do is send my most heartfelt condolences. I think of you and feel with you in this terribly sad time.

Auch wenn ich dich kaum kannte, berührt mich dein viel zu früher Tod sehr.
Mein aufrichtiges Mitgefühl gilt deiner Familie und allen, die dir nahestanden und deinen Weg begleitet haben.
Ich durfte dich als aufgewecktes, fröhliches Kind kennenlernen und so möchte ich dich auch in Erinnerung behalten.

I am so sorry for your loss. I went to Weathersfield with Anoush. The day after his crash when I heard the news, all I could think about was how it went from us hanging out and riding bikes in the neighborhood during elementary to middle school with our little group to this in highschool. It’s hard to think about and I know it’s hard for a lot of people especially for his family. I hope he rests well ❤️🕊️

Our lives brushed once, twice, briefly. A glimpse of the child he was then will remain. He was happy, with family. And so he will stay in my memory.

Sharing these photos through pain and tears is one of the hardest things to do. Each picture holds beautiful memory, birthdays, summer days, and moments of laughter at school that we will never forget. Please watch over us from above and give us strength as we try to carry on with the memories you left behind. I pray that your beautiful soul is surrounded by angels of peace and guided to the highest place in heaven. You will always be with us.

I remember being in Barcelona with Azar, after Anoush had asked her to bring him back a Real Madrid jersey. It felt almost impossible—finding something like that in a city so devoted to its rival. But somehow, as we wandered through the streets, we suddenly found ourselves standing right in front of the official Real Madrid store, as if the moment had been quietly arranged just for him.

Azar went inside and picked out a jersey and souvenirs for Anoush, smiling the whole time. When we stepped back out, carrying that unmistakable shopping bag, I joked that she should walk a little farther away from me so no one would “attack” us for it. We laughed so much in that moment—one of those simple, joyful memories that stays with you.

Looking back now, I realize I would have bought that entire store for Anoush if I could. I would have carried those bags through every street in Barcelona without a second thought… if only it meant I could bring him back.

I just wish we had more time to make memories with you, Anoush.

He is missed more than words can ever hold, but memories like these—full of laughter, love, and the little things he cared about—keep him close to us, always.

I hope he knew what a special and kind person he was, and how deeply he was loved by his parents, Azar and Gerhard, and by his brothers, Dariush and Kourosh.

Rest in peace, Anoush, wherever you are. 🤍

I remember Anoush vividly.  While some faces dim over the years, not Anoush,  not your lovely family.  Anoush, and Kourash, stood out as friendly, nice, bright, respectful, talented boys.  I had no doubt they would grow to be exceptional young men.  Kourash, Mom, Dad, I cannot imagine your pain.  My heart goes out to you.  Anoush will be remembered.
