Anthony (Tony) Leon Batson was born in Brunswick, Georgia 25 September 1965 to Vivian Banfield Parker and the late Forest Batson, Jr. He is a 1983 graduate of Orange Park High School (Orange Park, FL). Anthony served his country for three years in the United States Army. He worked at Walt Disney for over twenty years before accepting a position at American Express in 2017. He transitioned on 3 January 2020 at the age of 54 after an extended illness.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory a loving wife, Svetlana (Lana) Knyazeva; a son, Shawn Anthony; a step-daughter, Lauren Emmanuelle (Elle) Silvestrov; his mother and stepfather, Lester and Vivian Parker; his brothers, Andre (Cynthia) Batson, and Kelcee (Valerie Gomez) Batson; sister, F. Denise Daniels; and stepmother, Alma Jean Batson. His aunts and uncles include Velma (William) Crosby; Elaine (Bobby) Lovett; Louise (Dennis) Johnson; Mildred (John) Miller; and Dan (Wanda) Banfield. Tony will be sorely missed by his three nieces and three nephews, and many cousins. He was indeed loved by friends and co-workers waaaaaaay too numerous to name, and will be forever missed. He was close friends with Diane (Dee) Ferguson and her children. As he's shared with his family over the years, his long-time neighbors held a special place in his heart.

He was preceded in death by his father, Forest Batson, Jr.; grandparents, Forest and Helen Batson, Sr., and Hilliard and Elma Banfield.

The family would especially like to acknowledge the many hours of support, over countless visits -- provided by Claudia Batson, Dee Ferguson, Kathy Samuel, Virginia (Virg) Foote, and Janina Sukhu -- during his recent illness.

I have known and loved the Batson/Parker family for 37+ years, ever since I met Denise her freshman year at Bethune-Cookman College, now University. I have always considered myself the 4th child, because that's how the parents, siblings, cousins, aunts & uncles have always treated me. I am honored to be so blessed to have been accepted so openly and loved so unconditionally. Tony welcomed Denise and I in his home for a visit to California. He treated us like royalty. I thank and praise God for his life, the joy he brought so many (with his contagious smile & laughter) and love he showed us all (always willing to help). He will be missed, but his memory will remain with each of us... RIP my brother! Love Paula
