Tony is survived and will be forever remembered by his best friend and wife, Christina Albers Giles; his four children, Jennifer (Josh), Garrett (Becky), Dawn (Jared), and Weston (Shannon); his four step-children, Shane, Radelle (Adam), Krystal (Booker), and Kari (Matt); his brothers, Brad and Christopher; and his 26 loving grandchildren.
Tony was born in Van Nuys, California to Irving and Jean Giles on June 13, 1955. He graduated from Taft High School in 1973 and then served a two-year volunteer mission in Florida for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. After his mission, he met Paula Nielsen at Peirce College Institute where, shortly thereafter, they were married for time and all eternity in the Los Angeles Temple on August 12, 1978. After graduating from the University of Utah with a degree in business, he and Paula moved their young family to California where he built and owned his own insurance business. They eventually settled in Moorpark, CA where they raised 4 children. After 32 years of marriage, Paula passed away in 2010 after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Tony found love again when he met and married Christina Albers Giles in 2012.
Tony was a man of faith who held a deep gratitude and love for his country. He devoted much time and effort serving in his local church and community. He devoted himself to the care of his family and was loyal and committed to his duties of husband, father, grandfather, brother, and son. He was an avid baseball coach, fisherman, golfer, car enthusiast, and gardener. Despite enduring many hardships throughout his life, Tony always wore a smile and had a positive attitude. He seldom complained and always courageously persevered. He would often say, “My life is so full and rich”. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, Tony’s family requests that donations be sent to Switchpoint Community Resource Center @ www.switchpointcrc.org. In Tony’s memory, your donations will serve the homeless community in St. George, Utah and add to the tremendous service already provided by he and Kristy over the past years.
