Barbara was born in Islip, NY, on February 17, 1936, to George and Frances Zeledon. She grew up in Paterson, NJ, with her brothers Donald and Ronald. The family moved to Rahway, NJ, while Barbara was in high school. After graduating high school, she met her to-be husband George Gibb, and they married on September 3, 1955, in San Clemente, CA.
The family moved to Thousand Oaks, CA, in 1965, where she remained a proud resident for 54 years. While raising her family, she enjoyed making dance costumes, keeping score at Little League games and working at the family business. After the children were grown, she enjoyed working in property management and serving on her condominium HOA board. She always loved watching and talking about her Dodgers.
Barbara was a loving, caring and giving mother, grandmother, Aunt “B”, and friend to many. A “lady among ladies” her family has said. She was the matriarch of the Zeledon clan for the last several years and our family will miss her every day. Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy will never be the same!
Barbara is survived by her three children Scott Gibb and his wife Cindy of Camarillo, CA, Cary Gibb of Thousand Oaks, CA, and Donna (Gibb) Gillman of Stafford, VA. She was a beloved grandmother to Kevin Gibb and his wife Becca of Camarillo, Jessica (Gibb) Frebe and husband Jason of Camarillo, Alexa Volchev, Kaley Doyle and Brian Gillman. She was a great-grandmother to Kori, Nathan, Kami and Brielle, and a special aunt to Robin, Jerry, Dana, Chuck and their families.
We all will forever miss her.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks Memorial Park, Westlake Village.
