Maria Belen “Bey” Soledad Maigue Jamir, age 78, of last residence in Camarillo, CA passed away peacefully on February 25, 2025 from respiratory failure after journeying through most of her life with asthma and heart complications. She was born in Manila, Philippines as the eldest child of Nieves Maigue Jamir and Attorney Alberto MK Jamir.
Aside from being a dutiful daughter always encouraging a prayerful life and closeness to God, Bey found joy in any kitchen and often filled books with recipes she collected from friends and family over the years, so if you ever shared one with her, it is most likely saved in one of the many volumes that she kept. She enjoyed cooking for get-togethers and special events. Some of her fondest memories were cooking for fiestas and Simbang Gabi noche buena as part of the Fil-Am community at St. John of the Cross parish in Lemon Grove, CA.
Bey is survived by her two children: Alberto “Jay” Jamir (married to Didi Placer) and Andrea “Dream” Nocon (married to Warren Nocon), her four grandchildren: Allyssia Jamir, Anthony Nocon, Alexander Nocon, and Aric Nocon, and her sisters: Celia Jamir, Julia Caronongan, and sister in-law, Zoila Jamir. She was preceded in death by the father of her children, Romeo Jamir, and her siblings: Claro Jamir, Sarah Francisco, and Ramon Jamir.
She was cremated in Thousand Oaks, CA. Family and friends are invited to attend her memorial mass on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at 11am celebrated by Fr. Alex Aquino at St.John of the Cross parish in Lemon Grove, CA. Please join us for a reception afterwards, and RSVP to Dream at [email protected]. Inurnment will be at a private ceremony at Our Lady of Fatima Parish in Binakayan, Kawit, Cavite. In lieu of flowers, contributions are appreciated by the family.
