

Carl was born in Hinsdale, Illinois on May 31, 1932, Mr. Lane practiced law in Encino having passed the Bar in 1959 and retired in 2012 at the age of 80, a total of 53 years.
Mr. Lane was married to his loyal and understanding wife, Rosemary for 37 years.
Mr. Lane’s daughter, Lisa Shaffer, and her husband, Robert and their four children, Shannon, Kayla, Jennie and Joshua and Mr. Lane’s son, Christopher and wife, Donna are also survived.
Mr. Lane is also survived by his two step-sons, Daniel and Sean Clifford and grandson Jack Clifford.
Mr. Lane graduated Cum Laude from University of Illinois in 1954, then served as an officer in Germany in the United Stated Army from 1954-1956. Carl graduated from University of Illinois Law School in 1959, having spent his last year at UCLA.
Mr. Lane died prematurely having promised himself he would not pass away until the Chicago Cubs once again won the World Series. The last time they won was 1908, 105 years ago.
Mr. Lane felt he would be the world’s oldest living man!
Mr. Lane was well known for his sense of humor by wanting to make people laugh, e.g. What do a gay bear and the World Series have in common?? NO CUBS
Remember Mr. Lane by having a drink, but don’t drive…and keep laughing.
