Carolyn Marie Cooper

Carol graduated from Wittenberg University with a bachelor's degree and later earned her teaching credential from Long Beach State University. She loved teaching music in the Conejo Valley Unified School District, sharing her love of music with her students. Above all, she was a devoted mother her raised her two sons with care and pride.

Carol and her husband, Gene, were deeply involved in the United Methodist Church of Westlake Village. A passionate musician, Carol sang in the church choir and found great joy in singing and playing her baby grand piano.

She was the daughter of Burton Elwin Bearss of Harris TOwnship, Ohio, and Lillian H. Greunke of Graytown, Ohio.

Carol is survived by her sons, Steve Cooper (Michelle) and Jeffrey Cooper (Jessica); her grandchildren, Caitlin, Molly, Davis, and Mason; and Jeff's stepchildren Jonah and Ava.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the hospice team, healthcare providers, and caregivers who showed Carol such compassion in her final days, especially Lucy Fernandez, for her devoted care from 2020 through 2024.

Family and friends are invited to attend Carol's service at Pierce Brother's in Westlake Village on June 11th, 2026 at 10:00am. Visitation with the family will begin at 9:30am.
