Carroll L. Smith, a recent resident of Ventura, California, passed away the morning of August 4, 2026. He is preceded by both his parents, John Henry and Sadie (nee Robinson) of Conway, New Hampshire, four brothers, two sisters, and his eldest son. He is succeeded by his spouse of 74 years, LornaRae Smith and a son, Christopher Smith, Ventura, CA, and a daughter, Cherri Ann Marshall, Fremont New Hampshire. Carroll lived in New Hampshire, Hawaii and Florida. He was an avid skier, having skied the slopes of the White Mountains in his early years and Mauna Kea as an adult. He was also a marathon runner in his later years, having completed the Honolulu Marathon in 1976 with his spouse. After retirement from Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in the early 2000’s, he spent much of his time tinkering (he loved to fix things) and watching baseball. He was an avid fan of the Boston Red Socks.
