Charles Marsh Bull Jr.

Charles Marsh Bull, Jr., lovingly known as Marsh, of Agoura Hills, CA, passed away on September 1, 2026, at the age of 82. He was born on January 12, 1944, to Charles Marsh Bull, Sr. and Virginia Lee Bull (née Tipping) in Joplin, Missouri. In 1948, the family welcomed his brother, David. After time in Norman, Oklahoma, the family moved to Omaha, Nebraska, where Marsh grew up and began building the foundation for a life marked by faith, family, service, meaningful work, and a deep sense of purpose.

Marsh graduated from Central High School in Omaha in 1962. He later married his first wife, Sandra, and together they welcomed three children: Scott, Amy, and Michael.

Marsh went on to attend the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, where he earned his undergraduate degree in Marketing and Management in 1967. He then served two years in the Army and was stationed in Saudi Arabia during the Vietnam War era. After his military service, he continued his education and completed an Executive MBA at the University of Nebraska–Omaha in 1978.

Following his military service, Marsh built a long and successful career spanning more than 40 years in the corporate world, working with several Fortune 500 companies including Xerox, Honeywell, American Express/First Data Corporation, and IBM. After retiring in 2007, he turned much of his time and energy toward something deeply meaningful to him: mentoring men and encouraging others to live with integrity, hope, and a heart for God.

Later in life, Marsh married Margaret “Peggy” Wells Bull, and together they shared 25 years of marriage built on deep love, faith, companionship, and commitment. They enjoyed many adventures across the world, created wonderful memories together, and made their home between Durango, Colorado, and Agoura Hills, California. In 2023, they decided to live full-time in California, where they enjoyed their backyard filled with Marsh’s plants and the company of their wonderful friends. Marsh often shared that his years with Peggy were among the happiest of his life.

During his time living in Durango, Marsh devoted himself to his community and men’s ministry. He founded the Boys & Girls Club of La Plata County, reflecting his heart for investing in others and strengthening the community around him. In 2012, he founded the Men’s Group Foundation (www.mensgroup.org), an online Christian ministry created to provide biblical resources to help men grow in their faith and pursue Godly living.

Marsh was a gifted and thoughtful writer. He authored and published two books, "Saving the Corporate Animal, One Soul at a Time" (2023) and "Overcoming the Seven Fears: A Guide to Hope and Purpose" (2025), and wrote countless poems over the years focused on life’s joys and obstacles. Through his writing, he shared his reflections on faith, courage, and the hope found in Christ.

Marsh enjoyed bass fishing, road trips, good food, fine wine, and time spent with friends and extended family. He had a deep appreciation for conversation, reflection, and the beauty of God’s creation. Those who knew him will remember his thoughtful spirit, his love of writing, and the way he encouraged others to live thoughtfully and draw closer to the Lord.

Marsh was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, David; and his infant son, Scott. He is survived by his beloved wife, Peggy; his children, Amy (Jay Lowndes) and Mike; his stepchildren, Shannon Shea and Tim Shea (Martha); grandchildren Chase, MacKenzie, Adriana, and Vanessa; and great-grandchildren. His legacy lives on through the family he cherished so deeply, each carrying forward a part of who he was and blessed by his love, guidance, wisdom, and example.

Though our hearts are heavy with loss, we are thankful for Marsh’s life, for his love, and for the many ways he enriched our lives. May we honor his memory by loving one another well, remaining as curious about God’s world as he was, and holding tightly to the faith that sustained him throughout his life.

A Celebration of Life will be held the afternoon of Saturday, October 24 in the Westlake Village/Thousand Oaks, California area. Additional details will be provided at a later date.
