Chris McClintock

She loved the Conejo Valley, where she was prominent in the real estate industry for more than 50 years. She joined the Conejo Valley Board of REALTORS in 1969 and was awarded “Conejo Valley Top Salesperson” in 1972. In 1973, she was named Conejo Valley REALTOR Associate of the Year. She was awarded “Conejo Valley REALTOR of the Year” in 1980 and served as Board President in 1996.

She was the founder and charter president of the Conejo Valley Women’s Council of REALTORS as well as serving as President of the California Women’s Council of REALTORS. Through the years, she held management positions at Brown Realtors, Merrill Lynch, Century 21, Young Realtors, Sotheby’s International and Dilbeck Real Estate.

Born in the town of Fowler, IN in 1930 to Ruth and Lewis Christy, she received a Bachelor of Science degree from Northwestern University in business administration in 1952. She met her husband of 53 years, Tim, at Northwestern and they married right after graduation. They first settled in White Plains, NY, where she managed pension and estate plans and began raising her family.

In 1965, the family moved to Thousand Oaks, where she was active in numerous community organizations, including the Glenwood PTA, Girl Scouts, and Boy Scouts.

She is survived by her two children, Congressman Tom McClintock of Elk Grove, CA and Virginia (Eleas) Petru of Naperville, IL; three grandchildren, Shannah (Erik) Dongelmans of Brookings, OR, Christiana Petru of Nashville, TN; Justin (Caitlin) McClintock of Chico, CA; and great-granddaughter, Genevieve Joy McClintock. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas “Tim” McClintock in 2005.

Services will be held on Monday, February 16 at 1:00 pm at the United Methodist Church of Thousand Oaks, 1000 W. Janss Road, with burial immediately afterward at Pierce Brothers/Valley Oaks Cemetery.
