HOW LUCKY WE ARE TO HAVE SHARED THE MANY MOMENTS AND LAUGHTER WITH EARL, OUR DEAREST FRIEND WHOM WE LOVED DEARLY, AND WHY IT IS SO HARD TO SAY GOODBYE TO.

I had Mr. Walthall as my autoshop teacher at ECR back in 1976. Back then girls were unusual in autoshop. He was so accepting, funny, and gracious to me and everyone else. (And I was a real challenge.) I'll always remember his patient kindness.

Earl was my auto shop teacher at El Camino high school in 1974. Only one year together but a lifetime friendship from a character I will never forget.

Earl was always there for us and taught us much more than just auto mechanics, he was an instructor that actually listened, funny, tough when he had to be and always willing to lend a hand.

I’ll miss his social media posts and bumping into him on the golf course or at the lake.

Truly one of the good guys.

Dear Earl, We were good friends when we were young. You were my brothers best friend for many years. You were my good friend too. You and Paul joined the Navy together. After the navy you shared a landing craft you both bought and tied up off the Santa Monica Pier. You were such a good friend. We flew kites together. Played kick the can and made fudge together. Last time I saw you was at my brother Paul's funeral. I am sad that you have moved on but hope you are with Paul and all the friends who have gone before you. I will have my memories always. Barbara

Quite a guy.... A friend to all. It will be hard to think of any holiday not spent in his company at his home on Lake Lindero. May he have smooth sailing and a good wind at his back eternally....
