October 14, 1947 – June 15, 2026
Gary Robert Lansdon, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and faithful servant
of Christ, passed peacefully into the presence of his Lord and Savior on June 15, 2026, at the age
of 78.
Born on October 14, 1947, and raised in Seattle, Washington, Gary lived a life marked by faith, hard
work, generosity, and love for family. He spent 27 dedicated years working for Foss Marine,
building a reputation for integrity, dependability, and friendship among his colleagues.
In 2000, Gary and his wife, Marcia, made their home in Thousand Oaks, California, where they
became active members of Calvary Community Church. Gary faithfully served in many ministries,
including as an usher, with the Fresh Market Ministry, and through Buyamba Uganda, where his
servant's heart and love for others touched countless lives.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Verna Lansdon. He is survived by his
loving wife and life partner, Marcia Lansdon; his children, Brion Shepherd, Krista Lewis, and Kelli
Mealy; his sisters, Lynn Cunningham and Sally Tiekamp; his eight cherished grandchildren, Jordan,
Anabella, Keiara, Myles, Marcus, Sariah, Abram, and Hamza; and his beloved
great-granddaughter, Delaney.
Gary and Marcia shared 31 precious years together. He adored his wife more than anything, and
their marriage was a beautiful example of love, devotion, friendship, and unwavering commitment.
Together they built a life centered on faith, family, service, and adventure.
Gary was adored by all who knew him. He was the neighborhood handyman, always willing to lend
a helping hand, fix what was broken, or share his knowledge with others. He found great joy in
crafting birdhouses, a hobby that reflected both his creativity and appreciation for God's creation.
One of Gary's greatest joys was traveling the world alongside his beloved wife, Marcia. Together
they explored destinations throughout the United States and Europe, visited Israel, and participated
in mission trips to Uganda and the Philippines. Wherever they went, Gary's kindness, humility, and
faith left a lasting impression.
Though he enjoyed seeing the world, Gary found his deepest happiness in life's simple
blessings—playing games with family and friends, sharing laughter around the table, serving
others, and spending time with those he loved most.
Gary's life was a beautiful example of steadfast faith, servant-hearted generosity, and unconditional
love. He leaves behind a legacy that will continue through the many lives he touched, the family he
cherished, and the God he faithfully served.
While his presence will be deeply missed, his family rejoices in the promise of eternal life and finds
comfort knowing he is now home with the Lord he faithfully served.
