Gene was born on January 9, 1961 in Sierra Madre, CA. He graduated from Newbury Park High School in 1979 and went on to graduate from Universal Technical Institute in Phoenix, AZ.
As a boy he spent many summers camping in New England with his family and driving dune buggies and motorcycles at his grandparent’s home in Big River, CA. He belonged to the Newbury Park High School band where he played trumpet and developed his interest in music.
Gene met the love of his life, Kathy, in 1986 at a local restaurant in the Conejo Valley. Their relationship began as a friendship that developed into everlasting love and marriage.
His passions were cars, dirt bikes, hot rods, and especially Jeeps. He spent many carefree days four-wheeling in the deserts of California with his brother, Loren, and at Pismo Beach with wife, Kathy.
Having extensive experience in the automotive field, Gene achieved his dream job of driving test cars for BMW. His career combined his love of driving and technical knowledge with his interest in cars and all things automotive.
Gene was fun-loving and a great conversationalist which allowed him to connect deeply with people and resulted in many lifelong friends and business associates.
He took pleasure in barbequing for the family and gardening at his home. He had a passion for music of all genres from jazz to blues to rock-and-roll. Gene loved detailing cars and took pride in his showroom finishes. He got pleasure in attending off-road events and hot rod shows with his son, Tim; dad, Mitch; and his brothers. He enjoyed watching auto racing and all types of movies.
