Mrs. Glenna Sylvia Carver, 71, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2018 at her home in Thousand Oaks, California, after a long, courageous battle with diabetes, heart and kidney disease. Glenna was born on October 7, 1946 in Douglas, Arizona to Ana and Fernando Rueda and was raised in nearby Tucson, Arizona throughout her early childhood. Glenna attended the University of Arizona, prior to joining American Airlines in the late 1960s. Glenna worked in a variety of roles on the ground and in the air with American until her retirement after 40+ years of service with the company. A friend to all and loved by so many in her professional and personal life, Glenna remained active following her retirement by attending many KIWI functions, sharing laughs and swapping stories, with her fellow American Airlines retirees. Glenna’s greatest role was that of devoted wife, mother, and Nana and she found boundless joy spending time with family. Glenna is survived by her husband of 38 years, Douglas Carver; daughter, Shannon and husband Tom; son, Jonathan; daughter, Jennifer and husband Matthew; daughter, Christina and husband Jeremy; as well as grandchildren Rebecca, Joseph, Mikayla, Ava, and Lincoln; and brother, Fernando Rueda of Simi Valley, along with many other family members and good friends. Glenna’s love, zest for life, and infectious smile, will remain in our hearts forever. While her earthly presence will be greatly missed, we know we will see her again. A Celebration of Glenna’s Life will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, March 30, 2018 at Pierce Brothers Mortuary, 5600 Lindero Canyon Rd. Westlake Village, CA 91362. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Diabetes Association in memory of Glenna.
