There’s no question why Grace was often referred to as Amazing Grace. My husband Bob and I met Grace and George through St. Jude’s Renew program that they hosted in their home for years. Grace had such a deep faith and carried with her a long list of people that she prayed for. She was such a support to us through trying times. I will miss Grace so very much but know she won’t forget me.

Grace was my father’s secretary for 25 years, and without Her, I can’t imagine that the practice would have been half a successful nor half as compassionate. After my father divorced my mother, and then again after my mither’s death, Grace was an incredible support to me and my older sister. She is one of the people who had the institutional memory if you will, of my families younger years— the years where we actually were a family. She witnessed it. She witnessed it break up and helped us through it. She witnessed my sisters break up with her longtime partner and was an important support to her during those difficult years. And for me she has been almost like a mother, advising me, comforting me, challenging me, Helping me rest inside of a faith that really encompasses the whole world. I am not a Catholic, I am not a churchgoer or even a temple goer. I grew up Jewish, and yet still have a profound sense of a greater power. I knew that grace’s prayers were powerful. And I hope and pray that they will be even more powerful from wherever she is now. It has given me great comfort over the years that I have been on her list. She has been supportive and loving of my own partnership and giving me the advice I’ve often needed to help keep my investment in my partnership strong. I’m going to miss Grace. She brought so much grace to my life.
