Just learned of Aunt Grace's death today.  I always thought she was well-named because she always seemed the personification of grace to me. She was kind, sweet, with a warm sense of humor and real affection for those she cared about.  I liked talking with her and when I think of her, a smile always comes to my face.   I'm glad both she and her brother, were a part of my life.

I'm sorry to just learn of Aunt Grace's passing.  She was such a dear Christian lady, so kind and sweet.  Will miss her loving smile.

Just heard the news today.  So sorry for your loss.  Aunt Grace was a very special, sweet, and kind lady.  She was a blessing to anyone who met her.  Her smile was extra special.  She will be dearly missed.

May the memory of Aunt Grace continue to live on in each one of us until such time as all who are called, chosen, and faithful are reunited in that Great Day, as promised by Him who is Faithful and True.

So glad to have had Aunt Grace in my life and the lives of my extended family.  She brought joy to all and a true caring heart.  Her willingness to bless and hear others is the gift we will carry on.

Hi Elvina,  My heart and prayers go out to you.  What a beautiful blessing your mother was to all who knew her.  You were so blessed to have had sooo many years with her. Your Mom was such an inspiration to me.  She was always so warm and loving and full of great common sense on life and health and friendship and God.  It is because of her example that I keep my bone strength up with exercise.  Can't wait to see her with ALL those we love when HE comes for us!

I want to hold your hand.

I did something I've never done before. 
 
I held the hand of a 98 year old woman.
 
I'll tell you how it felt, in case you have not had the opportunity to do it either.  It was soft, fragile, tender, warm and comforting.
 
Some friends of mine,  grandmother/grandmother-in-law was in attendance at her great-grand daughter's birthday party. 
 
Periodically, as I chatted with old friends, I would glance her way and see her sitting outside,  alone, throw over her lap holding a book, or in the living room on a couch, alone, throw over her lap, holding a book.
 
 
I know her, have been with her other family gatherings and always speak to her.  It is the living room that I went to tell her hello.  I couldn't help but call her ‘grandma' though she is not related.  I don't have parents or grandparents so calling her that makes me feel like, for a moment, I do.
 
I took her soft fragile hand in mine and reminded her of who I was and how good it was to see her again.  I marveled at how good she looked, and 98!  Wow.
 
She slowly took her other hand,  gently tapped her chest and said “I still feel young”.
 
Yep, our body may age, but the inner you, seems to be frozen in time.
 
I remember, once time visiting my grandfather when he was in a nursing home, I think I was in high school. He was laying on the bed.  We talked and I laid across his chest looking at his sweet face while we chatted.  I will never forget what he said,  “You never think it is going to happen to you”.  Getting old.
 
I wish he were here so I could hold his hand.

Dear Sylvia, Elvina, Jud and all of Grace's family,  Aunt Grace was a wonderful part of our family, a dear friend to Mom and a houseguest anyone would want back over and over.  I remember how I was always so impressed by her and your Dad when they would get up early in the morning for their walk. She always had such energy. Even in her twilight years she would tell Mom of her activities and a walk was always in there.   I so enjoyed reading in Sylvia and Wilton's last letter  the tribute to her and learning more about her. She was such a loving, caring and forgiving person.  One that gave so much of herself and I benefited greatly in knowing and loving her.  Please know that you are in my thoughts, prayers and heart. Love Sheryl
