I have such wonderful memories of Bert and Margaret Reid. We became friends when Margaret, Alice Laurenson, Eleanor Byerley, and I served on the Missions Committee at Edgewood Congregational Church. I remember church picnics when Bert and Margaret brought their granddaughter, Danielle, along, and Danielle was in my Sunday School class. We had many fun get togethers over the years - which have gone so quickly! My condolences to Gwen and her family.

Bert was so welcoming to my family and I when we joined Edgewood Congregational Church 17 years ago.  He always made it a point to come over and say hello and would help us feel better when our middle child started running around the church when she was a toddler.  "There's the runner!"  he would say whenever he saw her.  Margaret would stand up and chastise the congregation if we weren't bringing enough food for the local food closet.  Both of them were the salt of the earth and I was honored to have known them.  My sincere condolences go out to Bert's family.  

My heartfelt condolences to Gwen and your family.  I have a lot of fond memories of Bert and Margaret through Edgewood Cong. Church.  Bert always had a story, always had a smile. They loved singing at my parents player piano at couples club parties.  I am especially proud he entrusted me with your mom's scone recipe!  Told me to never give it out!  Every time I visit with Alice Lawrenson (who's 101) we always mention Bert and Margaret.  I enjoyed learning to quilt with Margaret.  She made such a beautiful Tree of Life quilt.  It is an honor to have known them.  In deepest sympathy.

I was very saddened to hear of Herb's passing. Herb and I never actually met but we spoke several times over the telephone, as we were both members of Harmony Lodge #9, F&AM in Cranston, RI. I always enjoyed our conversations and he was very encouraging of me as I prepared to be Worshipful  Master of the Lodge a few years ago. He also spoke very fondly of his time growing up in Scotland. Both of my parents are originally from Glasgow and we enjoyed telling stories of that old city. Deepest condolences to Herb's friends and family.
