Howard A. Davis, 86, passed away Thursday, Nov. 17, 2022, in Woodland Hills, Calif. Howard was born on July 7, 1936, in Cumberland. He was the son of the late Frank and Hazel (Nixon) Davis. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley (Ruhel) Wolfe Davis. Also preceding his death were brothers, Joseph, Frank, and Jack, and his sister, Eva. Howard was a 1954 graduate of Fort Hill High School. He served as a medic in the U.S. Air Force from 1954-1958. He attended Frostburg State Teachers College and later received an MBA degree from Redland University in California. Howard moved his family to California in 1963. He had a long career as an officer for the Beverly Hills Police Department. He was president of the Beverly Hills Police Officers Association. After retirement, Howard enjoyed meeting with his friends, especially those from the Wings Over Wendy’s group and American Legion Woodland Hills. Howard is survived by his children, Ronald (Ron) Wolfe and his wife, Anne, Melinda (Lindie) Nelson and husband, Jon, and Howard Jr. He is also survived by six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and his sister, Peggy Young and husband, Willard. Services will be held at Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks Memorial Park at 5600 Lindero Canyon Rd, in Westlake Village, CA on Wednesday, December 8th at 10am.
