Ian Travis Jenkins, beloved husband, son, uncle, cousin, and nephew passed away unexpectedly at home on September 11, 2025. His wife Ti-Fee was by his side. He is survived by Ti-Fee, to whom he was married for ten years, his parents Melody and Don, and furry best dog Nova. Ian was 48 years old.
Ian was born in Spain, the only child of Melody and Don, when Don was stationed there while on service for the US Navy. The family moved back to the United States when Ian was almost two years old and settled in Vista, CA, near San Diego where Ian grew up and attended Vista High School. He then attended the University of California, Santa Barbara for college and graduated with an Electrical Engineering degree.
After college, Ian worked for some of the biggest entertainment venues in the world: Industrial Light Magic (ILM), ImageMovers Digital (IMD), Sony Entertainment, and DreamWorks Animation, among others. You may have seen Ian's name if you stayed for the credits at the end of animated movies such as Mummy Returns, A Christmas Carol, Beowulf, Star Wars, Terminator, Madagascar, Croods, Puss in Boots, Megamind, Kung Fu Panda, and many more. He was working at MSG Sphere Studios at time of passing.
Ian had a wide range of interests and a deep love for many things. In 2013, he met Ti-Fee through mutual friends in Los Angeles, and they quickly discovered a shared passion for art, animation, travel, animals—and, of course, each other. By 2015, they married and settled in Granada Hills, CA, with Ian's beloved first dog, Einstein.
Ian’s early fascination with anime art sparked his first overseas adventure to Japan, where his love for the culture expanded to include Japanese woodwork, ceramics, and cuisine. A huge fan of Hawaii, he made it a personal goal to visit all four major islands, with only Kauai left on his list.
A true lover of ‘80s pop culture, Ian reveled in the music, movies, and nostalgia of that era. He was also passionate about board games and cherished the time spent playing with friends. But above all, Ian's heart belonged with his wife, his parents, his family, and his friends.
Ian loved spending time with those he cared about—whether socializing with friends and family, playing with his niece and nephews, or mentoring his younger cousins. With his natural warmth and openness, he made connections with people of all ages and left a lasting impression wherever he went. His kindness, humility, generosity, and genuine love for others will never be forgotten. We will all miss his soft chuckle, his laugh, and contagious smile.
Ian's wife, parents, and extended family are deeply moved by the outpouring of love and support from all who knew him. Thank you to everyone who has reflected Ian's beautiful spirit. We hold dear any memories or stories you may have of him.
A vigil service for Ian will be held on Monday, September 29, 2025 at 3:00pm, at Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks-Griffin Memorial Park, 5600 Lindero Canyon Rd., Westlake Village, CA 91362.
A reception to celebrate his life will be held after the service at 4:30pm at Paul Martin’s American Grill, 100 S. Westlake Blvd., Westlake Village, CA 91362.
