James Michael Dehring, age 95, of Lake Havasu City, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 1, 2018 at his home. At the time of his passing he was surrounded by loving family and caregivers.
Jim was born November 26, 1922 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Paul and Celina Dehring. Jim will truly be missed by his devoted family and loving friends. He was a proud veteran, serving in the United States Army Air Forces as a corporal during World War II. Shortly after, Jim moved to southern California where he met and married his true love, Paule. After a successful career in accounting, Jim retired nearly thirty years ago to Lake Havasu City, Arizona. He was a member of Our Lady of The Lake Roman Catholic Parish. He enjoyed tennis, golf, freshwater fishing and listening to Tiger’s ball games. He had a lifelong passion for big band music. The clarinet was his favorite instrument, and Artie Shaw his favorite bandleader.
He is survived by his sister Susie Wright; his 4 children: James Dehring Jr. of Trenton, Michigan, Preston Marks of Soddy-Daisy, Tennessee, Mark Dehring of Laguna Niguel, California, and Claudia Dempster of Newbury Park, California; his grandson James Dehring III, and 5 granddaughters: Julie Frase, Melissa Dehring, Christine Ritthaler, Bryce Dehring, and Taylor Dehring. Jim was preceded in death by both his first and second wives: Virginia (Montange) and Paule (Lacaillade); his brother Paul, and 2 sisters: Theresa DeSchryver and Geraldine Sperling. A celebration of Jim’s life will be held at 2:00pm, September 1st, in the Chapel at Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks Memorial Park, 5600 Lindero Cyn Rd.Westlake Village, California.
