Throughout his life Jim epitomized passion, focus, consistency, stamina, strength, fairness, all around toughness, problem solving, intelligence, character, charm, excellent cooking, good heartedness; masterful landscaping, home improvement, sales, and being a great father amongst countless other gifts.
As a young man Jim served in the United States Navy, continuing on to work as a sales executive in military electronics for over 40 years.
Some of his maxims included “You can be whatever you want, as long as you're a family man,” and “You work hard to get lucky.”
Jim's body expired the evening of May 20, 2020 due to cardiac event while washing dishes in his Thousand Oaks, CA home. Medical first responders advised his transition / departure was almost immediate, with no prolonged suffering.
Sometime around 1990 it was discovered that Jim had a genetic disorder known as Marfan's Syndrome. After being brought to the hospital and surviving open heart surgery, Jim and his family were advised 'he had a maximum of 10 years to live.'
Arriving in 2020 on twenty borrowed years of hard work, vast productivity, and generous love is precisely what W.J. Foti was all about.
Be sure that Jim continues to live in the spirit of his loving family, everyone he worked with, friends, acquaintances, and those he served and taught.
