Joan Lorraine Oechsel of Pebble Beach, California passed away on Monday September 16,2024 at the age of 93 years old. She was born on May 3rd 1931, in Chicago, Illinois where she grew up on the south side of the city.
After finishing school, she was accepted in a program by Trans World Airlines (TWA) and trained to be a stewardess. She worked in this field for many years.
She lived for a time in Los Angeles where she met Jack Oechsel. They eventually married and raised 4 children in the Los Angeles area.
They retired to Pebble Beach, California where they enjoyed many years playing golf, socializing with their friends, and traveling the world.
She was actively involved in local charities and the Catholic church
She was preceded in death by her parents Paul and Marie.
She is survived by her husband Jack, her sister Marie, and children Lisa, Mike, Mitch and Trish, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She will be missed for her positive outlook on life and her desire to enjoy every moment.
The family would like to thank the staff at University Village and Oak View Skilled Nursing facility in Thousand Oaks, California for the care and compassion they showed her in her final days.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass at St. Paschal Baylon Catholic Church in Thousand Oaks on October 4,2024 at 10:30am.
