Johannes was born on April 20, 1949 in Managua, Nicaragua, to Julia Amanda and Luis Angel Lopez. Where he grew up with his sister Lucia Lopez Fonseca. In his younger years he would help by accompanying his mother, a nurse, in caring for the sick at their residencies. He would later move to Leon to study and become a lawyer.
He had love and passion for music at a very young age. He was part of several local bands in his home town of Managua. After moving to the city of Leon, he became a band member of his beloved “Los Clark’s de Leon”. City where he would also meet and marry his wife, Martha Trinidad Toruno in 1978. The family would later move to California in 1989. Where they raised their four children, Johannes Jr., Yaoska, Martha Regina, and Kevin.
His ear and love for music brought him many adventures and friends. He became a well-known and standout member of the band, playing the bass guitar as well as vocals. His pursuit in music always brought him joy and quickly became a calling in his life. He always sought to learn and play other musical instruments thus making him a man of many musical talents. He would spend his time together with his wife and kids by enjoying music and breaking down notes like a Master Chef in a kitchen, it was a soulful endeavor. The tremendous amount of enthusiasm he had for music is now left with his children and wife, who will miss him dearly.
