I have had the pleasure of knowing Ron for the past 57 years; our friendship began when we were 19 years old.

I first met Ron in the fall of 1964 at Pierce College in Woodland Hills. By some chance of good fortune we ended up in a class together. By the end of that class semester, Ron and I had become close friends and we would regularly hang out together.

Ron was a much needed friend to me at a time when I needed a friend. Ron would always carefully listen, offer advise if he could; and then try to find the upside no matter how difficult the issue. Ron's friendship always offered honest and sincere kindness, positive encouragement and a willingness to lend a helping hand.

As the years went by, Ron and I would follow our own individual paths through what would best be described as our life's journeys. Our paths would continue to cross , but infrequently, but when they did, we would get caught up with each other and share the latest events in our lives. And of course, we also would take the time to reminisce about the old days and that "chance meeting" in a classroom at Pierce College.

I have often asked myself,... was it really just a chance classroom meeting that brought Ron and I together, or was it a "meant to be" moment, in our individual life's journey?... I am convince it is the latter.

Ron will always be with me. His gregarious personality, that infectious big smile, his wonderful sense of humor and a down to earth demeanor, always made Ron easy to like. I count myself both honored and grateful that Ron was a part of my life; and that he allowed me to be his friend.

I will continue to cherish and carry with me the memories of all our good times together and the laughter that we both shared.

Ron and I have been friends since being in college at Chico State. I will always remember his gift of gab, his great sense of humor, his compassion, and his strong religious beliefs. The world is going to miss, Ron!
