

Joseph L. Corralejo passed away on Monday, October 22, 2012, two days after his 71st birthday. He was born in Los Angeles on October 20th, 1941 to Ascension and Natividad Corralejo. He graduated from Moorpark High School, followed by four years of service in the U.S. Air Force. After returning from his service, he continued his education at the University of Southern California, graduating with a degree in Mathematics. He retired in January of 2012 after working twenty-five years for the Department of Water and Power, and lived the remainder of his life in his hometown of Moorpark, California.
He was preceded in death by his parents, “Chon” and “Lala” Corralejo, his sister, Rosemary Gonzales, and his brother, Johnnie Corralejo. He is survived by his brothers, Victor (Florence) Corralejo of Bakersfield, and Samuel (Carrie) Corralejo of Simi Valley, Tia Rosie Nader, and Tio Mike Moreno, as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He will be fondly remembered by his extended family for his generosity, love and support.
Visitation will be held at Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks Memorial Park in Westlake Village on Friday, November 2nd from 6-8pm. The memorial service will take place at the same location on Saturday, November 3rd at 2pm.
The family would like to extend their thanks to all the Kaiser physicians and staff who compassionately cared for Joe throughout his illness. A special thanks, also, to Lisa Corralejo for all her help in caring for Joe.
